Jewellery Making Classes
Learn the metalworking skills for creating your own, unique copper & silver jewellery.
We are now running 6-week blocks of in-person jewellery making classes at:
Art Smart studio, 4 Manners Rd, Newark Notts, NG24 1BS, UK
Suitable for beginners and for those needing a refresher, the classes introduce students
to the foundations of metalworking. You’ll learn through one-on-one instruction,
demonstrations and lots of practice while you create your own pieces of jewellery.
£120 for six 2-hour classes
You'll develop skills in using the piercing saw, drilling, filing, shaping, texturing, finishing and soldering and will be supported in producing your own designs. You’ll be taught how to work safely using the tools and processes.
Over the six weeks you will create a small number of pieces of jewellery for yourself, whilst also meeting some lovely
like-minded people who are all feeling inspired to learn a new hobby and get creative. You can sign up for this course more than once without worrying about repeating the same lessons. I will work with you at your level as you continue to develop and produce your jewellery.
Classes run Sunday afternoons 3.00pm until 5.00pm and Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.

Included in the price you will receive some copper sheet and copper wire with which to develop your skills. As the course progresses you will be able to purchase your own silver. The amount you will need to spend on silver will vary depending on individual designs but you can typically expect to pay between £10 and £30 as a very rough guide.
