Izzy Wheeldon - Handcrafted silver Jewellery

Artist Statement:

"I produce hand-crafted silver jewellery with pierced motifs and embossed text, inspired through stories, quotes from scripture, songs & poetry. Each item of jewellery is individually made, therefore each is unique.

For many years my drive has been to create jewellery that has a deeper meaning and provides comfort, encouragement and inspiration to the wearer. A more traditional version of this idea may be in wearing a cross or saint Christopher that offers a reminder of, or hope for the existence of, a "higher being" who travels through life with us.

I studied at London Guildhall University (BA silversmithing, jewellery & allied crafts), graduated in 1994, and have since been making silver jewellery. "

Izzy makes bespoke silver jewellery, individually handcrafted using techniques including stamping, piercing, forging & oxidizing.

“An idea for an item of jewellery usually begins through reading a verse or story from scripture that inspires me. The idea then develops using drawings & lino prints, refining, altering and changing scale until it works as a wearable piece.”
